How we use AI
At Franchise Accounting & Tax, we use artificial intelligence (AI) to help us with accounting, tax and administrative work. We assess AI tools before approving them for use with client information. Our team remains responsible for the work we do and the advice we provide.
Our AI providers
We have approved the below providers for use with client information, based on our internal approval and verification requirements.
Xero (including Xero Partner Hub and Xero Tax): Accounting, bookkeeping, tax and BAS returns & financial reporting
Tax Nuggets: Tax research, Technical advice drafting
Google Workspace: Documents, correspondence, email, and administration
Claude: Drafting, research, and financial analysis
Monday.com: Managing work and client related tasks
Loom: Preparing and sharing videos
Zoom AI Companion: Meeting summaries and notes
Fathom: Recording and summarising meetings
We maintain rules about what information may be shared with each provider. Some providers may process or store information outside Australia, including in the United States.
Your Information
We take steps to protect client information, limit access and check AI-assisted work. This includes rules about what staff may share, who can access information and how AI-assisted work is checked.
We do not permit highly sensitive information, such as tax file numbers, identity documents or passwords, to be entered into general-purpose AI assistants. We don’t permit staff to put client identifiers or information into consumer versions of general-purpose AI assistants.
Your Choices
We seek client permission for relevant disclosures to AI providers. We also ask for separate permission before recording meetings where required.
If you have questions about our use of AI, please contact us.
